Protype of simple incremental and card based mechanics

This is an early prototype focused on testing the core mechanics and overall style of the game. It’s not fully fleshed out yet, but the basic systems are in place.

The top row of cards represents the environment deck. When you "buy" a card from this row, it gets added to your discard pile and eventually into your deck. Each card has three possible ways it can be played:

  • Top ability: Adjusts one of your character stats.

  • Middle ability: Alters something in the environment.

  • Bottom ability: Removes the card from your deck permanently to trigger a special effect.

After playing your hand of cards, you enter the exploration phase, where you can explore the world and gather resources. Your Stamina acts as a timer for this phase, once it runs out, you return to the card phase.

Right now, the resources you collect don’t have a use, but the plan is to let you spend them on unlocking new decks of cards, adding variety and new strategies to your gameplay. The long-term goal is also to introduce enemies that scale in difficulty based on how many cards you’ve taken from the environment deck.

This build is meant as a proof of concept for the gameplay loop, more systems, content, and polish will come later!

yoooo this is sick! i really love the look of the game the pixel art is really cute. the loop is interesting. there were a couple days where the generated terrain boxed me into the campsite area but besides that it was a fun lil experience c: lookin forward to seeing the card system fleshed out and such.

Stumbled upon this game randomly. I like the concept of the loop. Definitely has legs. The game got pretty laggy for me pretty fast. I'm excited to see where you take this. The next update you make, could you add a desktop build?

Thank you!
Sure, I can do that next time I update.
